Western Connecticut State University boasts two campus locations in Danbury, Connecticut. The first campus which is a modest 34 acres is located downtown and is regarded as Midtown. Western Connecticut State University Application Requirements
First-year undergraduate students should possess a high school diploma or GED credentials prior to applying for admissions at Western Connecticut State University. Students should complete an application, provide SAT or ACT scores, have a satisfactory class ranking and a satisfactory GPA. The application fee is $50 and is non-refundable. Other documents that should be included in the application include a personal essay of any topic, optional letters of recommendation or an entrance interview with one of the admissions counselors, and immunization documents.
Transfer students who are undergraduates should ensure their credits can successfully match the curriculum at the university. The application fee is also $50 and transfers should provide the office with supplemental documents for their program of preference. Official professional transcripts are necessary for consideration. International undergraduate students should follow the same application process and will need to provide documents that show proof of English proficiency.
Graduate students should consult their program of choice prior to applying for admissions. The homepage will have information that relates to the documents required for consideration. In general, graduate students will have to submit an official application along with the $50 application fee. Upon receipt, the admissions office will contact the prospective student and inform them of their status moving forward. At this point, students will then be asked to supply other supplemental documents.
Tuition and Financial Aid
Undergraduate students who are residents of the state of Connecticut will pay $5,672 per 12 to 18 credit hours. Students who are residents of other Eastern states like New York and New Jersey will pay $5,672 for the same amount of credit hours. Students who are non-residents of the state of Connecticut will pay $12,152. For those who are N.E. Regional residents, tuition per 12 to 18 credit hours will be $6,818. International undergraduate students will pay the same tuition fees as out of state residents. Students taking online courses will pay $50 per class. Housing fees for undergraduate students vary depending on the residence hall of choice. Western Connecticut State University has single, double and triple occupancy rooms available. Meal plans range from $1,147 at the minimum and $2,829 at most.
