The Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate program prepares students to take the Board Certification in Behavior Analysis examination. Students gain an understanding of the concepts and principles of behavior analysis, research methods in behavior analysis, ethical and professional conduct, and clinical applications of behavior analysis. A total of 18 credit hours are required for completion of the program. The courses include Basic Principles of Behavior Analysis, Introduction to Analysis and Single Case Design, Ethics for Behavior Analysis, Applications for Behavior Analytic Principles: Changing Behavior, Applications of Behavior Analytic Principles: Functional Assessment and Treatment Development, and Advanced Topics in Behavior Analysis: Teaching Children with Autism and Related Disorders.

A total of 36 credit hours are needed to complete the program. The Master of Education Certification in School Counseling prepares students to work as school counselors from prekindergarten to 12th grade. Students learn about multicultural aspects of school counseling and foundational knowledge and abilities in the field. A total of 48 credits are needed for completion of the degree. The core courses include: Introduction to Counseling and Interview Skills, Group Counseling: Theory and Practice, Family: Systems Development, Career Counseling and Development, Professional Ethics, Psychometric Theory, Psychology of the Exceptional Child, Psychology of Learning, Introduction to Child Psychology, Multicultural Issues, and Resources for School Counselors: Program Planning.

The Doctor of Philosophy Learning, Cognition, Instruction, and Development Specialization in Educational Psychology prepares students to become quantitative researchers. Students learn about measurement theory, statistical analysis, research design, evaluation, and qualitative tools to supplement quantitative methods. The program requires 48 credits of courses and 24 credits of dissertation research. The courses include Proseminar in Educational Theories and Practice, Proseminar in Educational Research, Cognition and Instruction, Qualitative Research in Education, and Quantitative Research Methods in Education.

Rutgers University is a public, national research institution of higher learning location in Piscataway, New Jersey. Federal Work Study

Rutgers University participates in the Federal Work Study program that is available to students who demonstrate a financial need. The program allows students to work on a part-time basis either on or off campus to earn money to help pay for education costs. Students are able to work up to 20 hours per week while classes are in session. The pay varies by each student’s unique situation, but every student makes at least the current federal minimum wage.
